Breakfasts were near the commercial kitchen and there's a sunroom (a nice feature) that's heated and looks to hold around 30 guests (which we didn't use the owners and 'mom' ate with us, again, as we were the only ones there!). We didn't use this, except to have a snack by the (not lit) wood burning fireplace. The Main level has a great room for a Reception/party. There is also a 'workout room' on this level but it looks like it hasn't been used in a long time.

The lower level also has a kitchette, handicap bathroom for public use, plus many tables/chairs, and a gas fireplace, that almost worked! The son has a room on this level at the end of the hall. It also has an 8 person hot tub, which was great after it warmed up to temperature! (It's outside but attached to the lower level and has a huge plastic windblock). It apparently Does work (we asked the owner, said it wasn't 'hooked up'). This would be good for Super Bowl type parties. engineer husband couldn't figure it out in a short time so we just took the DVD player back to our room! After all, we were the Only ones there!).

The lower level has an 18 seat In-Home movie theatre (great if it worked my mech. The lodge has an elevator that goes to all three floors (the lower level is a walk-out). It has lots of hardwood, nice fixtures, well decorated, great views. It also has a two bedroom cabin next door to rent (2-Q BR, 1 pullout sofa). The lodge is a huge log cabin, with 15 rooms to rent (2 K, 3 T, 10 Q all ensuite except one on the first floor). old mother in law who didn't have her hearing aides and did all the dishes from breakfasts! An ancient black lab, 'Stetson' topped off the cast (the 40-something son that also lives there didn't return until we were departing). Fortunately, it was more of a 'All in the Family' type of place, with the owners both around 70 yrs old and hard of hearing, a 99 yr. If the owner's name was 'Jack', it would have been a bit remnisant of 'The Shining'.
We were the only occupants in this B & B (built/completed about 5 years ago). My husband and I went to Mid Michigan for a weekend getaway. All and all, just what we needed for a get away! Highly recommend this place and will definitely go back! Would love to be there in the winter looking out at the snow and sitting in front of the fireplace. We enjoyed some fireworks, and bonfire with John and his grandson who was visiting from out of state. If in doubt, John is on site to help you.

As for the theater that is on the lower level, we did not have a problem getting the equipment to work, you just have to know how to work remote controls. Harrison itself doesn't offer much in the way of entertainment (other then its lakes and golfing) but you are close to other major cities such as Houghton, Traverse City, Cadillac, Mt. The property the Lodge sits on is beautiful, trails to walk or places to sit and enjoy northern nature. There are also 2 adorable, friendly dogs and Scot, the son who lives there and helps out. Alberta (Donna's mother) makes great coffee and helps in the kitchen. John and Donna (the owners) are a delight to talk to. Would be a great place to go to with a group or have a family reunion (if not more then 50 people). It is clean and quiet, many different places within the property to go to and enjoy or relax. Much thought, hardwork, skill and talent have gone into this place. It is a beautiful place to stay! The quality of materials and workmanship are amazing. We stayed at the Mannsiding Lodge in Harrison, MI July 4th and 5th, 2012.
